Welcome

Welcome to Austin Kyudo, we are a non profit study group that meets weekly at Rising Sun Aikido, we gather for practice, to learn and promote the art of Kyudo (literally the way of the bow).  It is considered by many to be the purest of all the martial ways. In the first volume of the All Japan Kyudo Federation Instruction Manual, it is written that the highest goal of kyudo is the pursuit of truth, goodness and beauty (shin, zen, bi). Modern kyudo is practiced primarily as a method of physical, moral, and spiritual development.

To those new to kyudo, this martial art that focuses on bettering one self through self discipline and hard work, as much as using a bow and arrow. We practice a modern Kyudo form established by the All Japanese Kyudo Federation (ANKF) in shomen style.

KYUDO MUST BE A BALANCE BETWEEN SHA (SHOOTING) AND REI (ETIQUETTE, RESPECT AND COURTESY)

THE ARROW FLIES STRAIGHT BY ITSELF, ONLY THE EGO CAN DISTURB IT'S FLIGHT
